Ok, so first, a knitting update. I did not, in fact, manage to finish even the first sock of my dad's Christmas pair, in time for Christmas morning. I ended up popping the sock in progress, needles, ball of yarn, and all, into a gift bag. When he opened it, I told him I'd continue working on it, if he'd hand it back. The first sock is now finished, and I've got almost the entire cuff of the second sock done. Here's hoping I can finish the socks, over the next few days.
I continue to be infested by the writing bug. One thing you need to understand about my writing is that I write, sort of like putting together a puzzle - I write whatever piece I come up with, that I can figure out where it goes. This means that I jump all over the place in my fantasy world timeline (which drives my poor muse bonkers, as she has trouble figuring out how any given piece fits into everything else, when she reads it). In an effort to explain what was in the missing portion of the story, I came to realize that it was getting way too complicated to explain, and I probably need to just write the darned thing. Yeah, right - easier said than done. So, I decided the next best thing would be to actually document a timeline for my stories. I was up until 3:00am re-reading stuff I wrote, a long time ago, looking for time-related notations, and putting together a chunk of timeline. I was up by 9:30 this morning, and continued work on it. There will, of course, be more to add, as I write more stories, but I'm pretty happy with what I have, so far... so of course, I can't find my dear muse, to show it to her... I still need an alternate victim volunteer.
